So, I just smooshed over 17,000 bot accounts that managed to sneak past the captcha and register. Though I feel no one would be devastated, considering the site's stagnation, but I apologize if I snagged any actual humans in the purge.
My fellow oddballs,
Even with my almost complete silence, I still check in several times a week, to see what little things keep popping up. I do occasionally post a response to people's queries on the Cbox, and check the forum. I'm honestly surprised at how dedicated you guys are to still even occasionally check the site and say a few words. I guess it's better to say it here, rather than in the Cbox again, for it to eventually get lost in the archives: ASP is not dead, but I simply don't have the time right now to work on it. It's been an unbelievably busy last couple years at work (yadda yadda real life), and I barely get to just sit down and draw for hours on end like the good old days. I don't want to just upload what I have made and then let the comic quickly become idle and stale yet again, once those have run their course.
I can't give you guys a date or a time frame for ASP's glorious return, but I can confidently say that not a single day goes by that it doesn't run through my mind. You're welcome to continue brushing it off and continue saying ASP is dead, but I'll cling onto hope as much as the few remaining fanatics do. Although, I do admit, I have no excuse for not at least putting the random stuff I've doodled into the Filler section. At least that would give people something to look at, or give proof that I haven't died (completely).
And with that, I shall grab a fresh can o' Pepsi and get back to work.
I'm fiddling with a background image, as you can see... I'm still not completely sold on it though. This version is much better than the first two that were up very briefly, but I'm still not so sure about it. Thoughts?
A late happy New Years to all! I Managed to fix the comment pages for news entries, so the text layout matches the news section from the front page (here). I also deleted many site accounts, so I apologize if anyone got caught in the whirlwind of discarded users. Odd, that there was a good handful of fake users, yet not a single spam post to be found... not that I'm complaining! On another note, some of the forum regulars have taken the chat room for a spin. Go pay a visit!
Hello and a Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the US! For those of you who aren't, happy Thursday! Just to let you guys know, Skyrim currently owns my soul. :)
Well a fine how-do to you, fine readers. Welcome to the shiny new design for ASP! I have unpublished all previous news entries, so here's a fresh start. There's still plenty of aesthetic tweaks/additions left, but all functionality is good to go. Considering how much you crazies seem to be itching to see some new stuff, I decided to go live with this now, and let you see the new site layout goodies pop up as I finish them (you're excited). You'll notice some nice new features, like being able to comment on news posts and fan art, and ASP's own built-in chatroom. On that note, to keep out bots and keep things civil and organized, I must also note that in order to contribute to the community in these ways, you need to make an account. Good news is that even if you don't have an account, you're still allowed to look at all comments and even check the chatroom. Neato!
It may not look like a huge difference, but the site was built from scratch, with completely redone functionality and a brand new content management system -- Everything is wonderfully simplified for me now! Having just put this live, please let me know if you have any trouble with something, if something is broken, or you just want to share your thoughts. Let the fun begin. ;)
